Neem Oil
Neem oil is an evergreen tropical tree of India and used traditionally as a folk remedy. The oil is versatile and is used for many religious purposes, personal and industrial uses. Neem oil is also beneficial medically. It is found in countries like India, Pakistan, Nepal, and Bangladesh. Neem oil is generally light to dark brown, bitter and has a rather strong odour that is said to combine the odours of peanut and garlic. It comprises mainly triglycerides and large amounts of triterpenoid compounds, which are responsible for the bitter taste.
The azadirachtin content of neem oil varies from 300ppm to over 2500ppm depending on the extraction technology and quality of the neem seeds crushed.
We are not using any chemicals or solvents for extraction of neem oil; this process ensures the availability of all the active ingredients of the Neem seed’s kernel in the Terra Bio neem oil and neem cake as it is natural.
Neem Oil has been used medicinally and cosmetically for hundreds of years. Its long-term use has made it one of the oldest medicines available today. Used to treat a myriad of diseases and illnesses, Neem Oil is truly a product that has withstood the test of time. The Neem Seed Oil sold by Mountain Rose Herbs is cold-pressed from whole Neem tree nuts (Azadirachta Indica).
